My sister-in-law is due in November with a sweet little girl. I am so proud of her and my brother and know they will make fantastic parents when little Charlotte arrives. A little backstory – Victoria found out she was pregnant earlier this year. Everything was going great (she even avoided any morning sickness). Fast forward to the end of May. My brother, Todd, was having headaches and started having some double vision. A trip to the eye doctor sent him in for an MRI. They received devastating news – Todd had a brain tumor. Initially, the only thing we knew was that it was not in a location that would be operable. With the help of Victoria’s amazing sister, Eva, Todd was able to somehow get in to see Dr. Fisher – one of the best neurosurgeons – at UAB. Within a WEEK Todd was scheduled for brain surgery with a hopeful prognosis. The surgery was successful – Dr. Fisher was able to remove nearly all of the tumor. After 6.5? weeks of radiation, Todd is now in remission! The most amazing thing, to me was both Todd and Victoria’s positive attitudes during the whole ordeal. They are truly an inspiration with how upbeat they remained and how determined they were to beat Todd’s diagnosis. I am so proud of them, and I know they will pass on that positive attitude to Charlotte.
While we were at the beach this past week, I took some maternity pictures to document this beautiful time in Victoria’s pregnancy. She was just glowing and Todd looks great as well!
